Whois Privacy Protection

Whenever you register a .com, .net, .org or most other domains you are required to provide accurate and up-to-date contact information. This is a requirement set forth by ICANN, the governing body for most TLDs. The information you provide for your domain registration is then made public through the Whois system. This presents an interesting target for people looking to harvest email and postal addresses for the purposes of spamming.

With Whois Privacy Protection your personal information will not be displayed in the public Whois system.

Instead your information will be replaced by a proxy. This allows you to comply with the ICANN rules for contact information while protecting your personal information.
